So did anybody see Top Model last night? I was in quite the hazy daze whilst watching, but I seem to remember things being pretty standard. Beyonca was bitchy to happy blond girl but she didn't really care. Beyonca was bitchy to sarcastic blond girl and she cared for a couple of minutes. I hate whenever the editor in chief from seventeen magazine is on the show. I know that the winner will pose for a 7 page spread shot by Jill Ben Simone but I still find it extraordinarily obnoxious that the editor in chief feels entitled enough to critique the contestants like A) they actually know anything about fashion and B) like top model has anything to do with actual fashion.
It was cool that they went to China this year. I was on that Great Wall just last year and it's pretty awesome. However, I was wondering two things. When I went to the Great Wall, my friend and I entered through the main entrance (And Tyra sure as hell ain't paying no shady Chinese man to take her to a part of the wall that's all grainy and broken and original so I know she went that way to). Anyway, once you actually got on the wall you could turn left or right. The path on the right had lots of steps but also was way more crowded so my friend and I naively wondered to the left and tortured our gams for the next few hours. However, the other part of the wall was so crowded (and must be everyday) so in order to get that much free space Tyra either paid out the big bucks to the Chinese government or she barked at the crew to turn left. This is the more logical route, but it cracks me up thinking about the whole crew, mr j, all the extras, the girls and Tyra dragging themselves up that wall. Its quite a hike man!
I also didn't understand why they played that extra long weepy goodbye montage as Beyonca bounced out. Weren't we supposed to hate her? Anyway, if anybody is reading this, who y'all think is gonna win this thang? On my end, suffering through Jaslene shouting "This is my Life" all season has convinced that a top model (or at least the winner of Top Model) should have a soothing voice. None of the remaining three have particularly annoying voices (can you imagine what a Beyonca "My Life as A Cover Girl? commercial would look like! dodged a bullet there huh?) but Chantal's personality annoys me. I know she'd be genuinely excited about the quick lash mascara and I don't play that. Saleisha's pretty peppy too but it seems very insincere to me, which I like. I think she'd be good on the commercials. However, assessing the girls now (don't you hate how Tyra calls them girls? They are all legal Tyra. We get it. Your better than them) I have to root for Jena. Those cover girl commercials would be hilarious because you know she barely gives a shit about the competition let alone the stupid cover girl commercial. Remember how Jena was the only girl who smoked? How come nobody thought of that as a plausible cause for her poppy behavior? Anyway, shes pretty hot and her monotone really makes her personality pop for me. I promise never to write this much about Top Model again. Peace
